Wat gebeurt er met Hamlet in de psychoanalyse?
Summary
The paper discusses Hamlet-interpretations from a Freudian, Winnicottian, Kleinian, and Lacanian point of view. Though each of these interpretations adds something to our understanding of the play, they also prove to be incompatible. This is a starting point to reflect upon the significance of this incompatibility for the clinician. The author ventures the view that Hamlet is the paradigm of the individual’s ‘sense of isolation’.
